A bit about me, the work, and what draws me to it.
So great to meet you—I’m Barry. Based in Saint Johns, Florida, but always open to travel for the right project.
I’ve been a self-taught photographer since around 2010, following a curiosity that never really settled. What started as picking up a camera turned into something deeper—a way to translate how I see and feel the world without needing to explain it.
My connection to documentary work really took shape after the birth of our daughter. That shift pulled me away from just taking photos and toward paying attention—looking for the in-between moments, the ones that feel honest and easy to miss.
These days, I’m drawn to the rhythm of real life—connection, subtlety, a bit of chaos, a bit of calm. I’m less interested in perfect images and more interested in ones that feel like something.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually with my family, out on a run, wandering on a photo walk, or sketching in a journal. I’m someone who feels things deeply and pays attention, and that naturally finds its way into the way I work.
